Raspberry PI AI camera support

Hello,

is there expected to be support for the new raspberry pi AI camera in Edge Impulse? I see it uses a Sony chip and by default they use some Sony AI platform but there is talk of support for others. I’d like to try that device out with Edge Impulse if possible.

Hi @paul

I believe It should work, but will need testing to confirm. @davidtischler_edgeim @AIWintermuteAI Do you have any details on this one?

I saw the announcement for the new AI Camera, but I have not had a moment to read closely or understand if it is compatible with Edge Impulse…Does is just run standard Tensorflow Lite for Microcontrollers? If so, then yes, as @Eoin says, it should work.

Has there be any fix in this? I am working on a senior design project now and have an AI camera and trying to use edge impulse but keep getting errror message:

Edge Impulse Linux client v1.14.1

[GST] checking for /etc/os-release
Failed to initialize linux tool Capture process failed with code 1

I have tried so many things including opening through gstreamer. What are my options?

Are you able to use a regular USB webcam @mrebelo ? What happens if you try that, as opposed to the Raspberry Pi AI Camera?

I replied on the newer forum post to avoid confusion

@davidtischler_edgeim

which newer post are you referring to?
