Link WiFi socket and camera detection

Hello everyone! I would like to create a small project with my students: The aim is to recognize whether a person is wearing safety glasses or not and only then can the drill or electric saw be operated. The electrical devices are connected to a WiFi socket. A small camera and a microcontroller are installed on the devices themselves, which send a corresponding signal to the socket if the detection is positive (protective glasses on). Here’s my question: Which hardware (microcontroller and camera) is suitable for this? We want to use a ShellyPlug as a socket; therefore the microcontroller should have a WiFi module. Thank you very much for your help and tips!
